YSMU rector Armen Muradyan and the head of the Soldier's House Haykuhi Minasyan presented in Paris the work being done to rehabilitate the wounded soldiers in Armenia.

They told how the Soldier's House was established and recorded that, in fact, the Soldier's House in Armenia had formed the circle that was able to help the wounded soldiers recover after the war and return to full life.

At the initiative of the members of the French Senate, Armen Muradyan and Haykuhi Minasyan were participating in an event, which was committed to expressing the French support to Armenia for one purpose – to draw the attention of the media and politicians to the threats currently facing Armenia.

During the event, the inviting party focused on three main issues: the aftermath of the war in Armenia and the region, the return of Armenian prisoners of war, the rehabilitation of soldiers, and the preservation of the Armenian cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh.

Armen Muradyan expressed gratitude for the invitation and emphasized: “France and the French people have always been by Armenia's side”.

Referring to the overcoming of the war consequences, YSMU Rector said: “When Harykuhi Minasyan and I were creating the Soldier's House, the House of the Disabled in Paris, a symbol of national dignity, was a prototype for us”.

During the discussion, the director of the Soldier's House Haykuhi Minasyan also presented stories that described without any comments the differences between Armenian and Azerbaijani soldiers in the conditions of war and peace.

“When the Armenian military tried to stop an Azeri bus, the driver said: “I won’t stop, as you won’t fire on women and children”. But when a humanitarian ceasefire was declared during the last Artsakh war, the Azerbaijani side was bombing Stepanakert at that moment,” said Haykuhi Minasyan, who was at the Stepanakert maternity hospital at the time.

The Paris House for the Disabled and the Soldier's House reached a preliminary agreement to organize mutual visits, as the management of the Paris House for the Disabled was impressed by the stories of the members of the French Senate who visited the Soldier's House.
