Indian graduate Prachi Aggarwal has been fortuitous in being a part of a great institution such as YSMU, but it helped achieve her lifelong dream of becoming a doctor.
According to her, the 6-year medical journey was not all laughter and happiness. “It was filled with late night hard work, loads of caffeine, anxiety, stress, and yes, tears too. My constant motivation through it all were my dear friends and my parents, specially my mom who never let me give up no matter how tough the conditions got. So, I can assure you that the moment you will hold the degree, and someone will address you with the title of a Doctor, it will all seem to be worth it in the end”, Prachi emphasizes.
This entire journey, she adds, has provided her with the experiences and memories that she will cherish for life.
Chitrala Nitish is YSMU alumna too. “Give your hands to serve and your hearts to love”: this quote by Mother Teresa has always inspired him. “I believe that serving people and doing good for people is my motivation to become a doctor, and it was also my dad's dream. His interest towards medicine gave me a push to take up this field. While searching for the universities, I got to know about YSMU (it is one of the oldest universities of the world) and decided to join it”, he tells.
Chitrala’s experience in YSMU was a beautiful rollercoaster ride full of personal and professional growth. “The medical university will always be a place of civility, friendship, and good cheer. I would like to suggest my dear juniors: knowledge is all that matters, not marks, don't run behind marks and don't get disheartened if you score less or you couldn't get through any of your exam in life because next time when you are starting you are not doing it from scratch”, he concludes.
