Within the framework of the “Return” program the 6th classroom of YSMU was reopened after the renovation and modernization. It will be named after the former head of YSMU Chair of Pathological Anatomy and Clinical Morphology, Professor Nelli Khostikyan.
25/05/2022Armen Kocharyan, Ph.D., DABR, MRSE, Senior Imaging Physicist at Houston Methodist Hospital and Associate Professor of Weill Cornell Medical College, is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Medical Physics at Yerevan State Medical University and specializes in magnetic resonance imaging.
The delegation of YSMU headed by the university Rector Armen Muradyan paid a state visit to the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi.University Specialists had meetings with Tbilisi State Medical University Rector and the management staff, had discussions with Georgian colleagues as a result of which contractual agreements were reached for establishing firm interuniversity relations as well as for exchange programs for clinical residents.
YSMU Associate Professor of the Chair of Pharmacology, Head of Educational Programs Department Aram Victor Baykov took part in “Erasmus + KA107” International exchange program in Santiango de Compostella University in Spain“From May 9 to 13, as a visiting lecturer, I was in one of the oldest Catholic universities in Europe which has a rich educational cultural background, and pay immense attention to internationalization” noted Aram Baykov.
Professor Levon Nazarian is the person who made an invaluable contribution to the development of ultrasound diagnosis in Armenia. He was born in the United States, New Jersey. He is a Professor of Radiology and Vice Chair for Education at Sidney Kimmel Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, as well as the President of the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
According to the results of the first stage of the university admission process of the 2022/2023 academic year, more than 1000 applicants applied to Yerevan State Medical University. It is 40% more than the 696 (605 paidand 91 free) places provided by the university. According to the executive secretary of the YSMU Admissions Committee KostandinManukyan, there will probably be no vacancies in the faculties of general medicine, dentistry and military medicine this year. 73 applicants applied for the 90 places allocated to the Faculty of Pharmacy (85 paid and 5 free).
