YSMU student from Iraq: Doctor is a continuous source of happiness

Future dermatologist Poshia Wshyar Rashid has come to Armenia from Iraq. She studies at the Faculty of General Medicine of Yerevan State Medical University after Mkhitar Heratsi.

For a 23-year-old student, practicing medicine is the most important and primary hobby.

“I am passionate about helping youth reach their potential and live their best lives. Becoming a doctor, you take away the pain and sufferings of others by giving them medical treatment and healthcare. As a doctor, we are a continuous source of happiness for many people and their families. As a future doctor, it will be my honor to find ways to solve the everyday problems that make leading a healthy life so hard”, Poshia says.

She knew about YSMU by help of one of my friends. “Of course, it was my dream to study in YSMU. I enjoy every minute of learning in this university. The teachers, professors and staff of Dean’s Office are excellent”, Poshia thinks. She is planning to continue education in the UK or Germany.

Armenian people, according to her, comprise one of the most interesting nations out there, because of their unique physical characteristics and the tumultuous history of the country. “This ancient and honorable people have been around for thousands of years and have fought for their right to exist for just as long. For these reasons their people can say proudly: “I’m Armenian”. I love the way they love their country and fight for it!”, Poshia assures.

The future doctor loves living in Armenia as everywhere you go in our country, is adorable and special.

“It is important for a doctor to respect people, healthy or ill, regardless of who they are, to be proactive advocates for their patients, mentors for other health professionals, and ready to learn from others, regardless of their age, role, or status.
Great doctors are great communicators. Never stop learning to have successful carrier: don’t desire to become wealthy, respect your patient and everyone in your staff”, Poshia concludes.
