Boston University Medical School was renamed in honor of two Armenian graduates -Aram Chobanian and Edward Avetisyan.The relation of childhood friends with the American University has more than half a century of history.93-year-old Armenian doctor, philanthropist, cardiologist, Professor of Medical Sciences, member of the Editorial Advisory Board of the new Armenian Medical Journal of YSMU Aram Chobanian was the Honorary President of Boston University in 2003-2005, since 1994 he is foreign member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia, since 2000-Honorary member of the American Society of Physicians, since 2002-member of the European Academy of Sciences. He was awarded «Mkhitar Heratsi» medal, as well as the Gold Medal of the Yerevan State Medical University.

YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan received Honorary Consul of the Republic of Armenia in Fresno, Head of the medical mission from the USA Perch Abgaryan and Fresno City Council member Mike Karbassi.“Our cooperation with Mr. Abgaryan has years of history and is very productive. Our cooperation in the educational and medical fields has passed the test of time,” Armen Muradyan stated, greeting the guests and presenting the main mission of the century-old educational institution he leads, which is to train medical personnel and develop science in accordance with international educational programs.

YSMU Rector Armen Muradyan hosted the 1975 graduates of the University, Rita Sulahyan-Kouyumjian, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry at McGill University of Canada, and Zhirayr Kouyumjian, Professor of the Departments of Family Healthcare and Gerontology of the same university.During the meeting, willingness to deepen inter-university cooperation was emphasized.

The installation and testing of the Seahorse XFe96 analyzer has been carried out by the engineers from Moscow at the “COBRAIN” center of YSMU.In the near future the visit of specialists from Manchester is already planned, who will certify the testing of the device and the training of the researchers who will carry out further works. The Seahorse XFe96 analyzer was purchased as a result of a tender to provide financial support for the modernization of the infrastructure, material and technical base in the field of science, approved by the order of the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of RA.
