Education quality assurance

The YSMU Education Quality Assessment and Assurance system is aimed at evaluating, maintaining, and enhancing the effectiveness and quality of the learning process.

The YSMU Education Quality Assessment and Assurance system was established in 2010, the key support of the YSMU education quality assessment and assurance centre. This centre is responsible for developing tools and toolkits for quality assurance, engaging with internal and external stakeholders regularly, conducting surveys, periodic review of Academic programs, supporting to the process of self- assessment aimed at institutional and program accreditation.

 To uphold the quality of education at YSMU, the primary tools involve questionnaire surveys, including online surveys such as the “Lecturer through the eyes of a student” conducted every semester, within the framework of which students share their views on various aspects of the educational process, including the organization, the effectiveness of professors, etc. Additionally, key performance indicators (KPIs) are employed, along with methods like focus group discussions, personal meetings, etc.

YSMU education quality assessment and assurance centre:

  • Acts attached to the Scientific Council for Quality Assessment and Assurance Commission and is integrated with its staff within the commission.
  • Accountable to the Scientific Council for Quality Assessment and Assurance commission.
  • Develops a teaching and learning quality assurance toolkit, with associated procedures and processes.
  • Ensures the implementation of the aforementioned procedures within the educational system.
  • Takes on the responsibility for conducting quality assessment and assurance processes, and performing decisions made in the scientific council.
  • Oversees the execution of relevant functions carried out by faculty committees.
