International Relations

YSMU has participated in various international scientific and educational projects, such as TEMPUS (VERITAS, DIUSAS, ALIGN, MEDGEN, PICQA) ERASMUS MUNDUS (MEDEA), ERASMUS+ (Mobile+2, Erasmus+ International, USC K107), as well as in an innovative scientific and educational grant projects funded by the World Bank. HORIZON 2020, ARMDOCT, ARICE programs are in progress. The university has its representatives in India, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates, and the Russian Federation, which provide the relevant institutions and citizens of these countries with necessary information about YSMU. Additionally, to efficiently coordinate the education of international students, they study the legislation requirements pertaining to higher medical education in those specific countries.

The university has established close collaborative relationships with medical universities in various countries and international health organizations in the fields of higher medical education and healthcare. Through exchange programs with foreign universities and health organizations, students, residents, and professors from the university actively participate in courses of varying duration offered by leading clinics and educational institutions abroad.

Since 2000, YSMU has been a member of a number of international organizations, including:

  • International Association of Universities,
  • World Federation for Medical Education, as a member of the Association for

   Medical Education in Europe

  • Association for Dental Education in Europe,
  • International Pharmaceutical Students’ Federation,
  • European Medical Students’ Association,
  • World Association for Distance Education,
  • International Association of Dental Students.

International collaboration is coordinated by the international cooperation department overseen by the vice-rector.
