Simulation Training Centre

The practical skills simulation training centre operates since December 2014.

The simulation centre serves as the primary means for implementing the new simulation teaching approach within the educational framework of YSMU. The introduction of this innovative educational method at undergraduate, post-graduate and continuing education levels provides an opportunity to:

• Improve the development of students’ practical skills,
• Analyse the errors made,
• Reduce the number of mistakes during professional activity.

The YSMU simulation centre has laboratories and classrooms equipped with innovative technologies. YSMU students have the opportunity to develop the necessary practical skills and professional abilities through the use of the latest equipment, simulators and training devices. In addition to general clinical skills, students at the centre acquire practical medical skills in “Resuscitation and Intensive Care”, “Obstetrics, Gynaecology”, “Paediatrics”, “Surgery” and other subjects. The centre is equipped with necessary professional literature in all three instruction languages.

In addition to the educational process, the simulation centre also conducts the practical skills testing phase of the state final attestation in the innovative OSCE format.

The simulation training centre welcomes not only students but also residency students, doctors, nurses, and organizes “First Aid” and other specialized training sessions for them.
