The Academic program for the Stomatology specialtyfinal

The academic program for the “Stomatology” specialty is carried out in 5-year integrated form. Each of the 10 designated semesters carries an academic load of 30 ECTS credits. The annual workload is 60 ECTS credits, one credit corresponds to 30 academic hours. Throughout the course, students engage in the study of both theoretical and professional subjects and other related clinical subjects. Upon completion of the program, graduates are awarded the qualification of a Doctor of Stomatology in the field of Stomatology.

The teaching process of theoretical courses is conducted within various university facilities (biochemical, administrative, laboratory, anatomical). The teaching process of clinical courses takes place in the university’s Centre for Excellence of Dental Education, as well as in university hospital complexes, outpatient clinics, in clinical diagnostic and pathological laboratories adjacent to these complexes where, in addition to narrow professional subjects, general medical subjects are also studied.

Practical training involves students engaging in the creation of custom dentures, along with active participation in diagnosing and treating patients during higher courses.

The main professional directions are conservative, prosthodontic, surgical, and pediatric stomatology. Specialized departments are located within three dental clinics at YSMU, responsible for organizing and delivering high-quality professional medical care to the community, providing a healthy and aesthetically pleasing smile for individuals.

Lectures, test assignments, educational manuals, and textbooks are continuously updated in three languages. Students engage in the scientific research activities of the departments and actively contribute to the endeavours of student scientific groups.
