YSMU Student Parliament
YSMU Student Parliament was founded in 1992. It is an elective self-government representative body of YSMU students. The Parliament ensures the processes of student autonomy and self-government, contributes to the social, scientific, intellectual, creative, cultural, moral and spiritual development of students.
The student parliament is governed by the session of the parliament, the presidium, and the president. Separate faculty councils, commissions, groups and other units function within the Student Parliament.
Members of the Student Parliament hold full membership in the scientific, faculty councils, and various administrative structures within YSMU.
The primary goals and objectives of the Student Parliament include:
- protection of student rights at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
- participation in the coordination of educational procedures
- establishment of relations and cooperation with student organizations in the RA and abroad
- dissemination of information on university and student life
- arrangement of student leisure and entertainment
- participation in processes aimed at solving students’ social challenges.
Scope of Student Parliament Activities:
- educational and scientific sphere,
- media and information fields,
- cultural and sports fields,
- social and healthcare sectors,
- organization of students’ leisure and entertainment.
Students at Yerevan State Medical University who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, active involvement in social activities, possess strong organizational skills and creative abilities are eligible to join the Student Parliament.
