Education
Teaching of the subjects «Rehabilitation Medicine», «Sports Medicine» and «Physiotherapy» is conducted in the form of cyclic classes to the Master’s Programme students of General Medicine Faculty, also to the 1st and 2nd year clinical residents.
Various didactic materials are used within practical classes; meanwhile the lessons on Medical rehabilitation and Sports Medicine are carried out in the functional cabinets equipped with necessary devices for anthrop- and biometric researches as well as functional researches. Students use the mentioned devices for conducting individual research workings.
Lessons on Physiotherapy are conducted at physiotherapeutic department of the University clinical hospital, where students master the usage of various physiotherapeutic devices for electro- and ultrasound therapy, as well as the application of laser technology and equipment for magnetic therapy and ozone therapy.
The evaluation of the students’ knowledge is carried out by the unified testing form approved by the University.
Postgraduate education
Postgraduate education includes PhD and Residency lasting for 2 and 3 years respectively. The specialties go as follows: Medical Rehabilitation, Sports Medicine and Physiotherapy.
Research projects
The research projects of the department are dedicated to the study of the peculiarities of oxidative stress formulation in hypokinesia and moderate physical workload: development of remodelling methods and Medical rehabilitation the patients with IHD and metabolic syndrome.
As a co-organizer, the Department is included in the project implemented by WHO European Regional Bureau within the frameworks of the programme «Global Strategy on Food and Physical Activity».
